Book Review: “The Girl on the Train” by Paula Hawkins

Hi everybody!

I finished reading “The Girl on the Train” by Paula Hawkins a few days ago (it’s been a long weekend).

This book is about an alcoholic woman who witnesses a crime and when she goes to the police, nobody takes her seriously. To them, she’s just the girl on the train. They don’t take her seriously until she solves the case herself. This book is about her journey solving the case.

It took me a while to finish this book. For me, it was boring up until the last hundred pages or so. I didn’t really enjoy this book because the main character, Rachel: is whiny, a drunk who sometimes drinks until she blacks out, harasses her ex-husband all the time, and puts her nose into other people’s business even when she is told to stay away by the person who’s business she is in. However, she goes above and beyond to solve the crime because she feels like she owes it to the woman and the woman’s husband……..and I like that about Rachel.

Until next time,

Stephanie
