Book Review: “Cut” by Patricia McCormick

Hi everyone!

I started reading this book during ReadbyZoe’s #ReadathonByZoe on March 3rd. However, I didn’t  finish it until a couple days later.

Overview on GoodReads:

A tingle arced across my scalp. The floor tipped up at me and my body spiraled away. Then I was on the ceiling looking down, waiting to see what would happen next. Callie cuts herself. Never too deep, never enough to die. But enough to feel the pain. Enough to feel the scream inside. Now she’s at Sea Pines, a “residential treatment facility” filled with girls struggling with problems of their own. Callie doesn’t want to have anything to do with them. She doesn’t want to have anything to do with anyone. She won’t even speak. But Callie can only stay silent for so long….

I wasn’t expecting to love this book like I did. I cried during the last 50 pages or so. I totally recommend reading this book. It tackles a bunch of issues, the main issue being self-harm.

Until my next post,

#ReadathonByZoe Wrap-Up

Hi everyone!

Sorry that this is a day late, but life called. I did manage to finish 2 books and I am 1/4th through another one. The books I finished were:

  • Don’t You Dare Read This, Mrs. Dunphrey by Margaret Peterson Haddix
  • Her Golden Arm by E.M. Fitch

I managed to read 183 pages the whole day and, I know that it’s not a lot, but I had to work and I also spent time with my family.

Maybe the next readathon I do will be better.

Until my next post,

#ReadathonByZoe Update #1

Hi everybody!

So, I meant to update y’all last night, but I had fallen asleep 15 minutes into the readathon – and in those 15 minutes, I managed to read 13 pages of “Don’t You Dare Read This, Mrs. Dunphrey” by Margaret Peterson Haddix (which I added to by TBR yesterday). I have work in a couple hours, so I will updaye y’all before I go to work.

#ReadathonByZoe TBR

Hey guys!

So, I will be participating in Zoe’s (from ReadByZoe) 24-hour readathon. This will be taking place on March 3, 2018 (aka tomorrow) from midnight until 11:59pm.

The books I plan on reading are:

  • “Her Golden Arm” by E.M. Fitch
  • “Cut” by Patricia McCormick
  • “A House At The Bottom Of A Lake” by Josh Malerman

If I have time, I plan on finishing “Swear” by Nina Malkin and starting “Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief” by Rick Riordan.

I will be blogging throughout the day, so keep checking for updates!

Until my next post,

TomeTopple Readathon | Wrap-Up

So, it is finally over, and I will say that mine was kind of successful.

Here were the challenges:

1. Read more than 1 tome
2. Read a graphic novel (still over 500 pages!)
3. Read a tome that is part of a series
4. Buddy read a tome
5. Read an adult novel

I managed to accomplish:

  1. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire/The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

3. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

5. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

I find that this TomeTopple Readathon was a major success for me.

Until my next post,

TomeTopple Readathon | Day 14

Hey guys!

So, today, I went to school, ate lunch, went to the library to pick up a couple more audio books, did some homework while listening to the audio book for The Chemist, watched my boyfriend’s nephew while his sister was out shopping with their Mom, ate dinner with my boyfriend and his family, hung out with my boyfriend’s sister, and did some cleaning.
